Dwight Howard Powers Orlando Magic Over Washington Wizards is a copyrighted article from the World Correspondents
Dwight Howard had a double-double 22 points and 15 rebounds to power the Orlando Magic over the Washington Wizards 110-92 on Friday. The game also marked the return of Gilbert Arenas to Washington since being traded in December last year. Arenas came off the bench and scored 10 points, pulled down six rebounds and dished out six assists in 25 minutes of action.
Arenas was traded following a season with a 50-game suspension for bringing in guns in the locker room. He also missed games in past seasons with the Wizards due to knee injuries. Despite a turbulent seven-year stint in Washington, his return to the Verizon Center was unexpectedly warm.
Aside from Howard and Arenas, Orlando had four other players scoring in double digits. Starters Ryan Anderson had 19 points and 8 rebounds while Jason Richardson had 18 points. JJ Redick had 15 points and Earl Clark had 10 points off the bench. Jameer Nelson scored 9 points and issued 11 assists.
Nick Young and Kirk Hinrich had 17 points each for the Wizards. Rookie John Wall and Rashard Lewis each had 14 points. Andray Blatche had 10 points, six rebounds and six assists.
